Value of construction permits hit over $2.5 billion in 6 months: Sharjah Municipality

SHARJAH: The Sharjah Municipality has announced that the contractual value of building permits in Sharjah in the first half of this year has risen to AED 9.344 billion, while the contract value of building permits for which certificates of completion was issued amounted to around AED 3.263 billion, reflecting the emirate’s great role in attracting investors.

Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Chief Executive Officer of Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that the smiling emirate is a model to be emulated worldwide in the visions and directions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Council Member supreme and sovereign of Sharjah, and his unlimited support to strengthen the position of the emirate on a global scale.

He said that the engineering and buildings sector has achieved many achievements in the first half of this year in various fields, including those related to the development of infrastructure and services, which have contributed to the high rate of growth. of engineering in the emirate, with 10,650 engineering permits. were issued, and more than 37,721 inspection visits were arranged for various areas of the city of Sharjah, and transactions submitted online reached 12,266 transactions in the first half of this year.

He explained that the Building Permit Department completed 1,824 engineering plan accreditation applications and issued 1,265 building permits and 1,169 engineering plan accreditation certificates.

The Chief Executive of Sharjah Municipality said the municipality was working through the engineering and buildings sector to update and develop building and construction standards on an ongoing basis to keep pace with the urban and population development in the emirate and in line with international standards, to achieve the visions and directions of the emirate by enhancing its role as an investment destination that offers excellent services and facilities to investors.
