North Grenville raises the flag to commemorate Community Living Month

The Municipality of North Grenville demonstrates its support for an organization that supports people with intellectual disabilities in our community.

A new flag is currently flying outside the civic center to commemorate Community Living North Grenville, the local branch of an organization that advocates for people with developmental disabilities across Ontario.

The municipality also declared the month of May “Community Life Month” to coincide with the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.

Mayor Nancy Peckford says the municipality wants to publicize the work of Community Living.

“The inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is fundamental to a healthy community,” she says, “and we are very proud of the strong relationship Community Living has with so many of our residents here.

Jonsson’s Independent Grocer in Kemptville is accepting donations to support the organization throughout May.
