North Cowichan seeks comments on draft Official Community Plan – Chemainus Valley Courier

North Cowichan’s new official community plan has been drafted and the municipality wants to hear from community members about it.

During the coming month, the public will be able to attend an online webinar, read and annotate an online version of the document or provide general comments on important topics contained in the OCP such as housing, environment and ‘economy. Comments heard as part of this commitment will be incorporated into the draft BCP before the board receives it for discussion and potential approval in early 2022.

A webinar will be held on Zoom on Monday, November 8 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will provide an opportunity to hear an overview of the document, learn how OCP will be used in the future and get answers to questions. staff questions. and consultants. A digital version of the draft OCP will be available from November 8 to December 8, giving community members the opportunity to review each chapter and provide comments directly within the document. The OCP project started in 2019 and the community and stakeholder groups had several opportunities to provide feedback and feedback during the multi-phased project.
