Frustration ‘hole’ leads Ga-Nala community to self-fix potholes

Ga-Nala residents who are tired of waiting for potholes to be fixed have taken it upon themselves to repair the gaping holes in their roads.

It’s not perfect, but it’s the best we can do. At least it is safe to pass the taxi rank,” said Mr. Dirk Grobler, proportional said an elected councilor from the Democratic Alliance.

The local municipality of Emalahleni donated 264 cold remedy sachets and 1,060 cold remedy sachets came from donations from the Ga-Nala community.

There are another 1,000 bags that will soon find their way into a hole. These tar bags were provided by Sereti Mine.

Wages for filling potholes are R700 per day. Community contributions contribute to salaries.
